As part of the Jubilee year of the Church, on Friday, September 19th we will have a date night for couples.
It will be a night of enrichment, fellowship and community as we share as couples in the presence of the Lord. This activity will be bilingual. The topic we will discuss is: The stages of marriage.
For those interested in participating, please complete the following information. Bring your donation of $20 per couple on the day of the meeting.

There are many reasons and ways to pray, but at the root of prayer is always the desire to be open to God's presence and His offer of love.
It is the Spirit of the Son that calls the Christian community to prayer and allows fo turnr each person to return to the Father. It was Jesus who entrusted His disciples with the Lord's Prayer, which is commented on by the Catechism of the Catholic Church (cf. CCC 2759-2865).
The Christian tradition also offers other texts, such as the Hail Mary, that can help to find words to address God: “By a living transmission Tradition the Holy Spirit in the Church teaches the children of God to pray” (CCC 2661).
The of prayer opportunities on the journey show that the pilgrim holds the path to God “in his heart” (Psalm 83:6). Refreshment is also provided by the various stops and opportunities for rest along the way, which are often organized around shrines, sanctuaries, and other places filled with spiritual significance, where one realizes that before us and alongside us other pilgrims have also passed along and traveled those same roads. Indeed, the paths leading to Rome have often been trod by many saints.
Hay muchos modos y muchas razones para rezar; la base es siempre el deseo de abrirse a la presencia de Dios y a su oferta de amor. La comunidad cristiana se siente llamada y sabe que puede dirigirse al Padre solamente porque ha recibido el Espíritu del Hijo.
Y es, de hecho, Jesús quien ha confiado a sus discípulos la oración del Padrenuestro, comentada también por el Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica (cfr. CCC 2759-2865).
La tradición cristiana ofrece otros textos, como el Avemaría, que ayudan a encontrar las palabras para dirigirse a Dios: «Mediante una transmisión viva, la Sagrada Tradición, el Espíritu Santo, en la Iglesia, enseña a orar a los hijos de Dios» (CCC 2661).
Los momentos de oración realizados durante el viaje muestran que el peregrino posee los caminos de Dios “en su corazón” (Sal 83,6). Este tipo de alimento necesita también de paradas y escalas varias, a menudo situadas en torno a ermitas, santuarios, u otros lugares particularmente ricos desde el punto de vista del significado espiritual, donde uno se da cuenta de que - antes y al lado- otros peregrinos han pasado y que esas mismas vías han sido recorridas por caminos de santidad. De hecho, los caminos que llevan a Roma coinciden a menudo con la trayectoria de muchos santos.

This Jubilee Year is dedicated to celebrate the 2025th Anniversary of the Incarnation of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The theme, the motto for this Jubilee Year proposed by Pope Francis is “Pilgrims of Hope”. Pope Francis invites us to “fan the flame of hope that has been given us, and help everyone to gain new strength and certainty”.
This Jubilee Year of 2025 will offer the faithful opportunities to participate in various jubilee events at the Vatican and in their own dioceses. For pilgrims in Miami who cannot travel to Rome, Archbishop Wenski has designated the Cathedral of Miami and other popular Catholic places in the Archdiocese as special places of prayer for Jubilee Year pilgrims, offering opportunities for reconciliation, indulgences and other events intended to strengthen and revive the faith.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church has been blessed by being selected as one the 6 churches/shrines as special places of prayer for Jubilee Year Pilgrims.
The basic conditions to gain an indulgence are
- be purified through the sacrament of penance
- be refreshed by the reception of the Holy Communion
- and pray for the pope.
Groups of faithful who wish to organize pilgrimages to one or more of the designated churches or shrines should coordinate with the designated site so that the pilgrims can be properly welcomed and have access to the Sacraments, especially confession.

- Tema: Peregrinos de Esperanza
Este Año Jubilar está dedicado a la Celebración del Aniversario 2,025 de la Encarnación de Nuestro Señor y Salvador, Jesucristo. El tema, el lema para este Año Jubilar propuesto por el Papa Francisco es “Peregrinos de la esperanza”. El Papa Francisco nos invita a “avivar la llama de la esperanza que se nos ha dado y ayudar a todos a adquirir nuevas fuerzas y certezas”.
Este Año Jubilar de 2025 ofrecerá a los fieles oportunidades de participar en diversos eventos jubilares en el Vaticano y en sus propias diócesis. Para los peregrinos en Miami que no pueden viajar a Roma, el Arzobispo Wenski ha designado la Catedral de Miami y otros lugares católicos populares en la Arquidiócesis como lugares especiales de oración para los peregrinos del Año Jubilar, ofreciendo oportunidades para la reconciliación, indulgencias y otros eventos destinados a fortalecer y revivir la fe.
La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe ha sido bendecida al ser seleccionada como una de las 6 iglesias/santuarios como lugares especiales de oración para los peregrinos del Año Jubilar.
Las condiciones básicas para obtener una indulgencia son
- ser purificados mediante el sacramento de la penitencia
- refrescarse con la recepción de la Sagrada Comunión
- y orar por el Papa.
Los grupos de fieles que deseen organizar peregrinaciones a una o más de las iglesias o santuarios designados deben coordinarse con el lugar designado para que los peregrinos puedan ser recibidos adecuadamente y tener acceso a los sacramentos, especialmente la confesión.
