Consecration of our Parish Family to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Sunday December 17, 2017
When we consecrate ourselves to God, a pact is established between the Father and His child. It is an act that will never be broken by God. It is a bond of love and protection. The Mission for the Love of God Worldwide invites us to begin, and continue, our journey back to God’s Heart, first, through an act of consecration in a Solemn Mass of Consecration. Then, we renew this consecration every day, through the prayer from the heart and good works. This is our daily commitment to this pact, as sons and daughters of God made in His image, for our personal change. It is through prayer and through charity that we may restore within each of us His likeness, which is the Love of God.
In Exodus, we see God asking all the men of Israel to consecrate themselves and their families to God as they prepared for their journey into the wilderness. Although Egypt for the Jews was a place of bitter experiences, it was nevertheless a place known to them unlike the vast desert and the unknown, which was in front of them. Egypt was a land that was cursed. When the time was at hand for the plan of God to be known, He would take the people of God out of that cursed place leading them into a new life in the Promised Land. Every morning, when the people would awaken and the dew had gone up, there appeared manna, the bread of God which comes down from Heaven, to nourish them; and every night, the people would witness the presence and promise of God through a pillar of fire over the Tent of the Ark of The Covenant, The Commandments of God, confirming the pact between God and his children. If only his children would accept. The similarity to those times and these is not dissimilar. We are being called once again by The Father to live his Commandments and leave behind the things of a world, which is becoming cursed by its abandonment of God. We are seeing the need once again to step out in faith into a new life.
As the chosen children of God for these times, in which the world is falling more and more into this desert of abandonment, we need to establish this same pact with God the Father as did the chosen children of God for those times.
The question today is: “Are we children of God or children of this world?” If the answer is that we are children of God, then we need to start acting as such in everything that we do and everything that we are. If we declare that we are His children, we have to be His children seven days a week, each hour of each day …nothing less. As with the Ten Commandments… we need to follow all ten and nothing less. We need to understand that we can’t enter into this War between good and evil that is raging in this world without The Love of God. We need to consecrate ourselves to His love and protection. We need to pray from the heart, return to the Sacraments and to be witnesses of His Love and Mercy through good works.
Dear people, I cordially invite you on Sunday December 17th to consecrate ourselves, our families and our Parish to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
In preparation, I invite you to pray the Holy Rosary daily at home and here at the Church Chapel at 7:00pm every Tuesday, also to visit our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and to be in a state of grace on that important day, through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
May our Jesus bless you and Mary His Mother intercedes for you and your families always.
